Well I might not have managed to find much information on keeping them, but I have found another pair, I am picking them up tomorrow.
My original pair are doing really well despite the lack of info on them and the male is taking food from my fingers. From what little information I can gather it would appear that they live in large colonies in the wild so a group of four will hopefully be closer to nature than a single pair. That`s what I hope to achieve eventually anyway.

Hi Parrot,
I am genuinely sorry, l thought one of the forums researchers had answered your original question.
Have only just noticed this entry today.
This may help

The site is still in the midst of construction and is awaiting its domain name allocation, however, there are EFB links here.

Thankyou for that Rory. A very useful chunk of information. It would appear that I am doing everything right so far and my set up is very similar to the one pictured in the link with some almost identical features, I shall be adding some horizontal natural fibre blinds after seeing them in use in the link now too, which look like an excellant feature to aid the bat`s mobility when not flying. They look comfortable and easy for the animals to cling to and easy for them to land on or take off from. I will also be adding a quality dried and soaked cat food to their diet after reading of it to increase their protein intake. My new pair I am pleased to say are here safely and went straight to the roost I had prepared.

Just a quick update, I now have 5 pairs and the colony has recently produced it`s first baby.
The baby is very difficult to see by day as he is hidden by the mother`s wings as you can see here. You should be able to make out the baby`s "elbows" and an ear;
![[image]](http://www.captivebred.co.uk/forum/files/bats_164.jpg)
Whilst feeding the other night, the mother left her baby at the roost. I quietly popped my finger across the baby`s toes and it took hold. So I took a quick snap and then popped it back on the roost whilst it`s mother munched on a mango.
